Jennie’s Circle presents first grant to CHCB

Dr. LaVonne Ansari and Fifty Fabulous Women founder Lisa LaTrovato

Members of Jennie’s Circle, a Fifty Fabulous Women Giving Circle focused on mental health, awarded their first grant, in the amount of $1,375, to the Community Health Center of Buffalo, Inc (CHCB).

CHCB is under the leadership of Dr. LaVonne Ansari, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director. It is a Federally Qualified Health Center operating patient centers across Western New York in Erie and Niagara Counties, in addition to a Mobile Healthcare Unit. As a National Health Services Corps site, CHCB is committed to serving all patients, regardless of ability to pay; offering discounted fees for patients who qualify; and not deny services based on a patient’s race, color, sex, national origin, disability, religion, sexual orientation. Focused on Patient-Centered Medical Care, the Community Health Center of Buffalo, Inc. is also an LGBTQIA+ friendly organization.

“The support and resources that Dr. Ansari and her team at CHCB have provided for over 16 years to the residents of the East Side is truly remarkable,” said Jennie’s Circle Founder Lisa LaTrovato. “Now more than ever, our neighbors who have been impacted by the tragedy that took place on May 14 need the services CHCB offers. Jennie's Circle is proud to offer our first ever grant to this wonderful organization and highlight the work they do.”
